In October, we joined a cult… film seminar. We visited Cinemateket for Filmklubbforbundet and Z filmtidsskrift’s annual film seminar. This year’s theme was cult cinema. We spent our weekend listening to four informative lectures coupled with four interesting films, and then interviewed four academics on their respective interest regarding the cult genre.

I’ll admit that historically I’ve been a bit of a baby when it comes to horror, but I couldn’t resist the temptation of dipping my toes further into the genre when the Norsk Filmklubbforbund (Norwegian Federation of Film Societies - NFK) announced its annual film seminar theme would indeed be that.

Oslo/Fusion International Film Festival, “Norway's only film festival dedicated to stories of, by and for the LGBTQIA2S+ / QTIBIPOC community” (courtesy of the festival’s mandate on FilmFreeway), took over several locations across the city from September 23-30th and offered a bevy of entertaining and thought-provoking works to the public.
